"The 36One-Songo-Specialized team of Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser walked away with top honours as overall winners of this year's Absa Cape Epic, following up on their victory of last year. With a 25-minute and 57-second lead time at the start of the final stage this morning, Stander and Sauser finished the eight day, 781km race with an overall winning time of 31:46:51. The South African duo of Kevin Evans and David George (360Life) were in second place overall followed by the German-Swiss team of Hannes Genze and Andreas Kugler (Multivan Merida) in third."

March 29, 2012 - Stage 4 - Caledon 105km
"The indomitable Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser (Team 36One-Songo-Specialized) won another stage at the Cape Epic on Thursday. Stage 4 was their fourth stage win at this year's event, and the pair finished in a time of 4:42.30."


March 28, 2012 - Stage 3 - Robertson - Caledon 147km
"Team 36One-Songo-Specialized's Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser won stage 3 of the Cape Epic in a sprint, finishing in a time of 5:31:04. They were closely followed three seconds later by South Africans Kevin Evans and David George of 360Life. Hannes Genze and Andreas Kugler (Multivan Merida Biking) were third at 8:43."

March 27, 2012 - Stage2 - Robertson 119km
"The Bulls 1 team of Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm sprinted to a win at the end of Cape Epic stage 2 in a time of 4:21:13. They were closely followed by Hannes Genze and Andreas Kugler (Multivan Merida Biking) and the winners of the previous two days, Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser (Team 36ONE-Songo-Specialized)."



March 26, 2012 - Stage 1 - Robertson 115km
"The South African/Swiss team of Burry Stander and Christoph Sauser (Team 36One-Songo- Specialized) won for the second consecutive day when they crossed the line at the end of stage 1 in a time of 4:33:23, which keeps them in the overall lead. They were followed by Urs Huber and Konny Looser of the Stöckli Pro team in 4:38:32 with the Bulls 2 team of Tim Böhme and Thomas Dietsch in third place in 4:38:33."

"South Africa’s top marathon racers got the 2012 Absa Cape Epic off to a blazing start when they dominated the top positions in the 27km prologue time trial that heralded the start of the international eight-day mountain bike stage race in Durbanville on Sunday."
